Handouts
Hi all! The handout is quite a big file so it won’t fit in a regular e-mail. I’ve put it up at YouSendIt, but it’ll only store the file for a week, so poke me if it gets taken away before anyone manages to get it. http://www.yousendit.com/download/TTZseFVlcTJCTWxMWEE9PQ

Do the Public Own Public Art?
So here’s the hub topic for this presentation. The question we will be looking at is “Do the public own public art?”
There is a meeting in Bedford Library at 6:00PM on Tuesday18th of November, the last day before the presentation, where we will bring everything together, run through the whole presentation and finalise the handout.
By 12 NOON on Tuesday 18th, please have your exact speech for the presentation posted on the blog in its final form, along with any resources you want on the handout, which can include pictures, quotes, links to or titles of anything you have referenced in your presentation, and whatever else you feel is worth sharing.
Read on for the suggested running order of the presentation. I have shuffled it slightly seeing how well Rosie and Alex’s topics matched one another, hope this doesn’t cause too many problems for Lara especially?

Presentation Handouts
Anyone got anything useful to put on handouts for the presentation, since this is something we do need to collaborate on fully.
At the meeting we discussed including a final definition of Public Art, as well as a bibliography of the things that we’ve all referenced in our sections of the presentation. We could also use any pictures, graphs and quotes that would illustrate people’s points.
So, anything anyone wants to include?
(Also, keep reading down the blog, there are loooads of new posts now up.)

Okay guys! As per the meeting today I’m putting up a series of posts here to collate information on people’s case studies. If you can bear it, comment in each of them and hopefully we’ll get some discussion going and find links between our case studies for use in the presentation. Make sure you check down the page, there are quite a few of these!
Accessibility and Publicity
How easy is it for people to get involved in the subject of your case study? How many people know about it? Could the publicity be better, and would the project benefit from that?

Community
How does your project tie into the community it is based in? To what extent is it dependent on that community for its content and ‘flavour’? How does the community benefit from the project? Should it be necessary for public art to tie into the community?

Funding
How does funding work for whatever your case study is about? Where does the money come from, and how do they go about getting it? Does the system work? How could it be improved?

So: Public Art, our overriding theme.
How would you define Public Art?
How does your case study tie into the theme of Public Art?
Is there any theory we have studied that particularly ties your case study to the theme of Public Art particularly?

Essay and Case Study
Hi guys! Ahead of today’s meeting put up an outline at my blog of what I’m planning for both my case study (poetry slams) and essay (internet fiction). If anyone wants to mosey on over to take a look and possibly add any tips – for which I would love you very much – then you can find it here!
Thanks all,
Joanna

Ideas Orchard: the Community Hub
Hi guys! We discussed setting up our own blogs that link into the main community blog after the lecture today, and I’ve worked out how to do it. Everyone can set up their own blogs and then add themselves as administrators on the Ideas Orchard main site, and it’s really easy to do, but there’s no obligation to do it if you don’t want to, you can carry on posting with the ladystrawberry account. This just lets us have our own spaces linked to the blog. Here’s how to do it, if you’re interested.
